The Upside:
This weekend on a trip home to nashville, I had the chance to watch the Dixie Chicks documentary Shut Up and Sing. It was a very interesting take on their controversial statements about George Bush and the fallout that occurred from that event. Nice to see the inside take on the making of their record Taking the Long Way, which I have long loved and recommended. The movie was very well put together and not only provided an interesting social commentary on the relativity of free speech, but also showed how the Dixie Chicks were leaving country music behind just as country music was turning its back on them.
The Downside:
the DVD is stuck in my Macbook, which will undergo emergency surgery tomorrow at 4.
