sorry about the lack of posts, I was out all weekend playing some shows with my friend Owen Temple. On Thursday, we played the legendary Gruene Hall, pictured below.
That was a good time, and a nice first visit for me. Friday I was in Austin all day and night, and Saturday played a private party in New Braunfels, which was also a good time.
After the New Braunfels show we stopped by the River Road Ice House to see Cory Morrow, and I was pleasantly surprised, even if the highlight of his show was a cover of the previously featured “Live Forever” by Billy Joe Shaver. I picked up his latest, Nothing Left To Hide, and was impressed by the production. I was glad to see him veer towards the minimalist, hard edged production of Steve Earle rather than the ubiquitous Texas Country rock sound.
Caught up on Entourage, nice to see the boys be leveled a bit (no spoiler if you haven’t seen it). This season was promised to be a little more realistic, and it turned out to be just that. Set the DVR to record this weekend’s UFC 75, and although I’m pulling for Hendo, I’m expecting Rampage in a decision.
