I was listening to NPR’s Fresh Air podcast on the way to Austin today and heard an interview with Ricky Gervais about his HBO show Extras. He was talking about the desire for fame, and how (through the main character of the show) he explores being famous vs. being great at what you do or very well respected. It brought to mind the following people.
Why are they famous? What did they do to get in the limelight? I would say that these folks get a solid 50% of the tabloid and press coverage these days. I dont know why though. It seems they are simply famous because they are famous. I can’t say that any of them are especially good at anything. Strange days.
p.s. When looking for a picture of Lindsay Lohan, I had to go through three pages of Google images before I found one suitable for a blog my mother sees. I now know why she is famous.
