Spending a little time in Austin over the holidays, I was turned on to this movie, which is absolutely stunning. Rather than critique the music business for a flawed business model, it critiques the music business for creating a culture that ignores art and promotes easily marketable creations.

Perhaps the fate of the music business is not just that people who shouldn’t be making money off of music are now getting called on it, but they have created a system that shuts out what used to be celebrated: talent. The movie features Dave Matthews, Doyle Bramhall II, and several Austin artists such as Bob Schneider, Kacy Crowley, and Blaze. Inspiring stuff.

Also, b-side, the website that hosts the video, offers a free download when you sign up, enabling anyone to own this film in its entirety for free. Not a bad deal.
